Spilasma orb-weaving spiders

Refuge is made of dirt and positioned in the web hub as a hanging net. Spider is stocky, with brown legs and cephalothorax. Dark band at end of femur. Abdomen is slightly brown with  white dots. Epigynum is boomerang-shaped and smooth, with spinnerets flat against abdomen.

Spilasma aff. baptistai (link). Refuge is made of dirt and positioned in the web hub as a hanging cone. Brown cephalothorax with solid brown legs, and greyish abdomen with 8 red dots. Top of abdomen has a groove.

Spilasma duodecimguttata. Refuge is dirt, and located in the web hub. Spider has a triangluar burgandy cephalothroax with small white eyes, large oval light brown abdomen, and ragged white polka dot markings. Legs are thick and burgundy with black hairs different in lengths. Tarsi are black, sternum and coxae are orange, chelicerae are burgundy, and pedipalps are light brown with black tips. Patellae are thick, underside of abdomen is golden-brown (as are the spinnerets), and epigynum is black with a light brown diamond-shaped marking around it.
